April is a known influencer and launched Live from the Southside in February 2019. April is a published author featured in multiple magazines to include SAXtreme Magazine and Good Housekeeping, and a certified Tourism Ambassador for the City of San Antonio. In addition, she is a part of the Texas Auto Writers Association, a Miss Plus San Antonio Pageant member, a James Avery artisan Jewelry ambassador, and the President of the Scooby Van of San Antonio Southside Chapter.

- I chose to be a Brooks Gives Back Board member because I am very involved in my community. I feel that my platform and publication can be a bridge between all the great things BGB is doing and the Southside community learning about them.
